Preliminary Feedback

Upon watching each other's Preliminary tasks, we all received feedback on our productions. In this blog, I will be discussing my feedback. Overall I was quite pleased with my final piece of work however, I do recognise that there is always room for improvement. A common aspect that was mentioned for improvement in my feedback was "develop your production" meaning I need to add more information to what I am saying. This was not something I had realised however it was something that made sense to me once it was pointed out and explained. This can be done with having a point to make or attempting to answer a question during the documentary. My problem with this is that I did not really have a question to answer during my preliminary task meaning I often did not have a specific list of things that needed to be mentioned. All in all, I am pleased with the advice I was given as it has opened my eyes to an issue I was not seeing before.

AN EARLY LOOK AT THE POWER OF COSTUME IN FILM

Character dress up I decided to dress up as a working-class male who seems to be involved in crime. I decided to show this by having myself break into my brother's car. The tool I decided to use was a bent around coat hanger commonly used to break into cars. I decided to show that I was dressing as a working class by wearing adidas tracksuit bottoms which are stereotypically worn by the working class. The puffer jacket is also very stereotypical to this sort of character as they are seen as very fashionable in the world of street.

LESSON AWAY 1: TEXT ON VIDEO

This piece of work took me about an hour and a bit to put together. I found the filming easy to complete but the editing was hard. The title I chose was simply chosen due to the plaque on the side of my house (I thought it would look quite aesthetically pleasing if the title and the engravement on my house were the same).
