Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound
In movie-making, there are these factors called Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound.
Diegetic sound: Sound that is there in the video eg: Door closing, the wind blowing etc.
Non-Diegetic sound: This is sound that is added in afterwards with an editing software, for example music, narrations etc.
A good example where both of these are used at the same time is in William Strobeck's video "JOYRIDE'. It is a skateboarding video so you can hear the boats hit the ground etc (diegetic sound) while the song "Sacred Love" - Bad Brains plays over it (Non-Diegetic).
